White standing-seam metal roof on a waterfront Cape Coral home
Cape Coral · Lee County

Roof replacement in Cape Coral, Florida.

Metal, tile or shingle — replaced on a canal lot without a nail in the seawall or the pool cage. Veteran-owned, which in this town is not a slogan. You sign once. You're not allowed to work.

WHITE-GLOVE ROOF REPLACEMENT

A veteran-owned roofer in a city that takes its veterans seriously.

Cape Coral is home to more than fourteen thousand veterans, the Iwo Jima memorial at Four Mile Cove, and the flag on Cape Coral Parkway you can see from the bridge. Blue Dog is owned by a veteran and run the way that suggests: the schedule we give you is the schedule, the site is squared away every day, and the person who signs the contract is the person who answers the phone. Every stage of your roof is photographed — tear-off, deck, dry-in, load, finish — and it goes to you the day it happens, whether you are on the lanai or up north for the summer. The day you sign, you get the owner's cell — not a project manager, not a call center — and he is your contact until the final inspection passes. Metal, tile, shingle: we install all three and we are as serious about one as the other. The underlayment we use is rated for six months of sun exposure; our standard is under five days with the deck open. We sequence the tear-off, the dry-in and the loading so your house is never sitting there waiting on somebody. The site is cleaned as we go, during the day, not at the end of it — and we inspect the roof nine times before we call it done.

Shingle to metal, done right

A lot of Cape Coral is a shingle roof from the 2000s that is getting hard to insure. A standing-seam metal roof is the upgrade most of our Cape clients choose — one that lasts, that carriers like, and that looks like it belongs on a canal. The panels are formed on site, to the length of your roof, so there is no seam running down the slope. We handle the whole conversion, and we explain the metal we are putting on and why.

Canal lots, protected

Seawall, dock, boat lift, pool cage, pavers — a Cape lot has a lot to protect and not much room to stage. We plan the tear-off and the loading around your lot, tarp the cage and the water side, and run magnets before we leave every day. "Not one nail in my driveway" is a line from one of our reviews.

Tile, metal, shingle

All three, to the same standard. On tile we match what is already on your house — profile and color. Standing seam where the water calls for it. Architectural shingle where it belongs. We tell you what your house needs, not what we would rather sell.

Insurance & storm

Carriers in Cape Coral now ask for the age and condition of a roof before they renew. We put the age, the condition and the photographs in writing, and when a claim happens, every finding is documented start to finish — which is why our estimates hold up when somebody else has to read them.

ASSOCIATIONS & PROPERTY MANAGERS

If the association owns the roof, we work for the association.

Two different jobs get called "HOA work." One is a homeowner inside a community, and we handle that paperwork for them. The other is the association itself — the condo buildings along the river and the Bimini Basin, the villas and the carports where the roofs are the association's responsibility and the board has to answer for them. That is a different kind of job and we run it differently.

Built around a board

Multiple buildings phased so residents keep parking, access and quiet hours. Scope and schedule in writing before anything starts. Certificates of insurance, permits and the Notice of Commencement handled, and one point of contact who is the owner of the company, not a coordinator.

Reporting your manager can forward

A live link with photographs of every building as the work happens. When a resident calls or the board asks where things stand, your manager opens the link and answers — no drive-out, no chasing a superintendent. We will shape the reporting to whatever format your association actually uses.

Alex and his crew were fabulous. We have used them on two different properties and they were FAST, reasonably priced, time on task and efficient. Highest recommendation. Richard and Kathy

The real deal. Too many times contractors are quick to respond to a call and then fail to follow up on their commitment. Alex will offer a written proposal, a two year guarantee and prompt professional service. We have used them twice and we received pictures of the current problem, an explanation of the work to be done, and a timeline for the work to be completed. Each time the work was done when it was supposed to be, the employees professional and the job site was clean and tidy each day. Five star for sure.

Straight Answers

Cape Coral roofing questions.

Who pulls the Cape Coral permit?

We do. Cape Coral is a single city, so every address goes through the City of Cape Coral Building Division — one desk, one set of inspectors. The permit, the Notice of Commencement, the product approvals and the inspection scheduling are ours. You sign once and we take it from there.

My shingle roof is from 2005. Is it going to cost me my insurance?

It might, and you should not find out at renewal. Many carriers now ask for the age and condition of a shingle roof once it passes fifteen years. We will inspect it, photograph it and tell you in writing whether it has life left or whether it is time — and if it is time, a metal roof is the replacement most Cape Coral owners choose.

I have a canal in the backyard. Is standard steel okay?

On most Cape canals, yes. The salt setback that voids a steel warranty is about 1,500 feet from open coast, and the canals are brackish, not the Gulf. Out toward Matlacha, Pine Island Sound or anything facing open water we switch to aluminum or a steel engineered for salt exposure. We will tell you honestly which one your house needs.

I'm up north for the summer. Can the work still happen?

It happens all the time. Every step is photographed and sent to you, so you can watch the roof go on from wherever you are. Several of the reviews above were written by owners who were out of state the whole time.

How long does a new roof take?

Most Cape Coral replacements run one to two weeks on the roof once material lands — metal often faster than tile — plus the permit and material lead time before that. The deck itself is open for less than five days by our standard. We give you the real timeline in the written estimate, not the optimistic one.
